My thoughts on Christmas Surprises at Mermaids Point

If you go into this book with the knowledge that it is a novella and features vignettes touching base with several couples from the first two books, you will definitely enjoy this visit to Mermaids Point.

The writing style and pacing are spot-on, which I’ve come to expect from Sarah Bennett. There isn’t a lot of character development as we already met the couples, but, It’s lovely to revisit them this holiday season.

Due to story arcs that I can’t reveal, the tale has a melancholy thread running through it. I might have liked a bit more holiday joy to counter some of the sadness. This is just a personal preference for me. I love upbeat Holiday stories the best.

So as you catch up with past characters and read the set-up for future couples, enjoy this quick visit to Mermaids Point in the off-season.

I recommend this book to lovers of holiday fiction, romance, and the inimitable Sarah Bennett.

About Sarah Bennett

Sarah Bennett has been reading for as long as she can remember. Raised in a family of bookworms, her love affair with books of all genres has culminated in the ultimate Happy Ever After – getting to write her own stories to share with others.
