An idyllic retreat becomes a battleground.

Working as the personal assistant for a celebrated actress should be a dream job, but for Rebecca Ward, it’s become a nightmare. As the menial jobs and abuse mount, her only escape is the striking and kind steward of the castle that they’ve rented.

But Eryk isn’t what he appears. As a Blade Lord with a stake in two worlds, he has come to his castle with a solemn duty: to discover a rogue who seems bent on war. But instead, he finds that the end to centuries of loneliness beckons as a deep love for Rebecca blossoms.

Unbeknownst to them both, however, his keep has already been breached.

My Thoughts on Eryk

Eryk: Through the Darksilver #2

Eryk, book 2 of Hazel Hunters Darksilver series delivers yet another page-turning paranormal fantasy read.

I’ve reviewed the earlier books in the Darksilver series, and this one is just as gripping

I don’t write spoilers in my reviews, so I’ll just list a few of my favorite reasons for enjoying the book.

  • Rebecca is a fascinating character who basically sold her soul to her cousin to pay for the care of her mother.
  • Courtney is one of the most despicable characters, and she’s not even the true villain!
  • The storyline is thrilling.
  • You can feel the sizzle between Eryk and Rebecca
  • Past main characters make an appearance.
  • Characters that have a recurring role are becoming more intriguing.
  • Comeuppance is a powerful draw to continuing a story.
  • The mystery is growing by the minute
  • 3 of 5 on my spicy meter. 🌶 🌶 🌶
  • The vampire aspect is not the overwhelming focus.
  • The series is complete, so I can move right into the next book.
  • Currently in Kindle Unlimited. (But no clue how long it will remain there.)

About Hazel Hunter

Icon for Hazel Hunter

Hazel Hunter and her husband stopped being separate people years ago. They live their happy life in the always crowded, mostly sunny, and sometimes sweltering city of LA.

When you can pull Hazel's fingers from the laptop, you'll find her: on the elliptical watching a documentary, indulging her audiobook habit, or spending quality time with Candy Crush.

Although she's vegan, she's a disaster in the kitchen. Luckily potato chips and pinot noir come ready-made.
