Fabulous Friday Finds July 16, 2021
Welcome to the July 16th issue. I hope you find this week’s “finds” fun and entertaining. I know I enjoyed searching for them. It’s been rainy here so not much outdoor activity, but I had some great reading time this week. Do you have conditions that make you want to read, cook, or craft? I saw a new technique for rigid-heddle weaving that has me itching to break out a loom and sample this way of creating patterns in the weft.
But I also have eleven reviews due in the next two weeks. The more I try to catch up, the further behind I get. There are just so many good books to read!
Let’s move on to the good stuff. Leave a comment on this post for a chance to be featured in my BookShop or on the sidebar of my website for a week. If the website donations are good, I sometimes offer a gift card option. I had lots of responses to the poll in favor of continuing the comment drawing, however, not too many comments last week. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Let’s chat!
Fabulous Friday Finds July 16, 2021 – Books
The Personal Librarian by Marie Benedict and Victoria Christopher Murray
A remarkable novel about J. P. Morgan’s personal librarian, Belle da Costa Greene, the Black American woman who was forced to hide her true identity and pass as white in order to leave a lasting legacy that enriched our nation, from New York Times bestselling author Marie Benedict, and acclaimed author Victoria Christopher Murray.

The UnHoneymooners by Christina Lauren
For two sworn enemies, anything can happen during the Hawaiian trip of a lifetime—maybe even love—in this romantic comedy from the New York Times bestselling authors of Roomies.
Olive Torres is used to being the unlucky twin: from inexplicable mishaps to a recent layoff, her life seems to be almost comically jinxed. By contrast, her sister Ami is an eternal champion…she even managed to finance her entire wedding by winning a slew of contests. Unfortunately for Olive, the only thing worse than constant bad luck is having to spend the wedding day with the best man (and her nemesis), Ethan Thomas.

A Letter from Your Teacher (on the first day of school) by Shannon Olsen
From the author and illustrator of Our Class is a Family, this heartwarming picture book helps teachers in welcoming their new group of students on the first day of school. Through a letter written from the teacher’s point of view, students are given the message that their new teacher is someone they will get to form a special bond with. Their teacher is not only there to help them academically, but also to cheer them on, and to provide a caring, safe environment for them to learn and grow.
