I was shopping for a few replacement items for my kitchen. I thought this might be a common issue for others, so I created a list of my favorite baking tools 2018 edition. Why add the date? Well, since my favorites change over time as I try new products, I decided this might be a post for myself and my readers to revisit occasionally.

Now that the required wording is out-of-the-way let’s move on to my favorite baking tools 2018 edition.
My Favorite Baking Tools 2018 Edition
1. The measuring cup is far and away the most used tool in my kitchen. My Pyrex glass measuring cup is used every day, sometimes multiple times a day. I love that it never stains, is easy to clean up, and a perfect one cup size. Yes, it is one cup. However, it holds two cups making it twice as useful. I use the one cup markings for accurate measuring, but if I am dipping up hot foods for canning or draining hot liquid, the extra space is very nice to have. The measuring cups also come in handy 2-cup, 4-cup, 8-cup sizes as well as a four-piece set.
2. My magnetic stainless steel measuring spoons are oval on one end to fit in jars easily. The spoons have a flat bottom which is very helpful for someone as messy as me. They are rounded on the other end so essentially you get ten spoons for the price of five. I love that there is no connecting ring, so you don’t have to either take them apart or wash them all. The magnets make these stay neatly together in the drawer to help avoid that cluttered drawer syndrome. I know once I take the others off the ring, they get thrown helter-skelter into the drawer.
My favorite bakeware
Corningware French White baking dishes are lovely. My set is not exactly as shown here, but it has a few years on it. One of the reasons I love Corningware is their products last forever. Another reason is that you can buy replacement lids, dishes, and add to your collection one piece at a time on their website. I use these for baking cakes, brownies, casseroles and more. Corningware dishes are versatile. Do you see the burnt-on edges of my lasagna? (click for recipe) The dish washed up quickly with no scrubbing!
4. I also have a set of clear glass Pyrex baking dishes that I use if all my pretty white ones are in use. However, I don’t find that they clean up as easily. But you have to give it to Pyrex on longevity. I received my set as a wedding gift 40+ years ago!

5. My old-fashioned metal baking pans may be a little less stylish, but I can’t get by without them. I like Bakers Secret the best. The 9×13 pan gets used for everything as does the large cookie sheet. I also get lots of good from the loaf pan, round & square cake pans, and the 6 ct muffin & 12 ct muffin pans. If you need to replace or are just stocking your first kitchen, you can buy a whole set at a discount.
Non-Essential but nice to have.
. A Wilton Silicone Spatula Set is great to have in the kitchen. I love the longer handle, and it’s sturdy but flexible.
Mine are white but aren’t these a lovely shade of blue?
7. I may have mentioned before that I am a tad bit clumsy and accident prone? Therefore, I rarely take anything from the oven without using at least one Ove Glove!
My only advice with these is you must keep them dry. Moisture will cause the heat to come right through and burn you. Don’t ask me how I know this.
8. Cooling racks are convenient to have around. You can set things on a towel or newspaper to cool, but it’s better to get the dish up off the counter and let some air circulate. I have a few of these that get lots of use. Wilton brand is again my favorite. They have convenient little legs that also make them stackable in the cabinet.
