The January 13, 2023 Friday Finds are here with a new Author of the Week, Indie Author News, Comfort Food, Wintery Crafts, Book Recommendations, and a Blog Roundup.
I’m heading off soon for our last Christmas 2022 celebration. I can’t wait, I’m so excited to see the Northern family. Do you manage to fit all your celebrations in on Christmas? I think it’s essential for everyone’s mental health not to cram everything into one week. But, this year seems a little drawn out. But hey, we can combine Christmas with January birthdays, so it’s a good thing.
I’ve had some feedback from readers about what they want to see on the blog this year. It’s not too late to get your vote in. So far, the tally is running toward more bookish posts that aren’t reviews, small-loom weaving, and general chatty posts. Some voted for all the reviews…all the time! What are your thoughts?
In light of the more bookish posts request, I plan to resurrect my WWW series to highlight what I’m reading each week and what’s coming up. But if I don’t get one up this week, here are two that are coming soon.

Do you have a new book releasing soon, a special promotion coming up, or any other news of your author’s life I can share with my readers?

When We Come Back from D.H. Schleicher’s official release date is January 24! I’m reading this now & as usual, loving it.
Book 2 in Missy Tarantino’s Granny Appleton Cozy Mystery series, The Feather Forecast, is out now. I’m currently reading book 1, Duck Down. Watch for reviews soon!

Kent Wayne is my latest featured author. His irreverent humor takes you on a wild ride. Please welcome Kent to the website, on the sidebar this week. You can find Kent on his website, Dirty Sci-Fi Buddha. (Do not go there if you are easily offended by off-color humor and raw language.) Otherwise, please enjoy his unique look at the world. I’ll have my review of A Door into Evermore, a YA fantasy, up soon.
Would you like to be featured as my Author/Blogger of the Week? Please drop me a comment below to let me know. That’s all it takes! If there are no volunteers, I had a convoluted system I use to choose a victim by comments, patrons, friendly people, followers, & shares.

I used to love making tissue paper suncatchers! I think it’s an honor when you pick the author/blogger of the week! I sure wish I could get my blog going better. I barely get views on it and all the likes are just me liking it when it’s a new day and it lets me like it again. It really takes away my motivation to even publish more blog posts. I’d rather be writing more books, but even that hasn’t been all that successful through the years. This online stuff sure is hard! Thanks for reading about my frustrations, lol! Have a great weekend!
Indie authors have such a hard road. I’m always happy to help where I can.
