Friday Finds | October 16, 2020
Hello, hello,
Welcome to this week’s edition of the Friday Finds. I’m currently back in Illinois and enjoying my own home for a while. These are truly some strange times we are living through. But, the key phrase there is “living through.” That’s the most important part, that we all survive to tell the tales of what life was like in 2020. I hope you and yours are healthy and safe.
On to the Finds!

In case you missed it on the blog this week!
I kicked off the start of my Resources Category with an Amazon post. If you opened the email newsletter sent to subscribers, you heard about it in time for Amazon’s Prime Day. I do hope you found some great deals from my recommendations. The post will reside in the Resources category at the top of the page. All the Prime Day only specials have now been removed, but I’ll be adding new recommendations frequently throughout the year.
I’ll also be adding pages from more top retailers, as well as freebies, printables, calendars, book-related goodies, and so much more. Be sure to check on it often. As always, newsletter subscribers will get the first notice when things go live.
Amazon Recommendations for Savvy Shoppers
The following book reviews were popular this week.
A HAUNTING AT HAVENWOOD BY SALLY BRITTON
A Haunting at Havenwood by Sally Britton is a charming, romantic story. It’s a quick yet satisfying read.
GLEEMAN’S TALES BY MATTHEW TRAVAGLINE
Mr. Travagline displays his superior skills in penning this story. He builds a post-apocalyptic world with intricate detail. Gnocchi Gleeman tells the story of how this world came to be through his many bard’s tales. You would expect to be confused by stories within stories, but it all makes exquisite sense.
THE OVERLY HONEST TEACHER BY MEREDITH ESSALAT
The Overly Honest Teacher: Parenting Advice from the Classroom is a must-read for all school-age children’s parents. Take a look at the many issues facing your student and learn how to work with the teachers to strengthen, empower, and help your child find success.
THE WOLF AND THE WATER BY JOSIE JAFFREY
The Wolf and the Water by Josie Jaffrey is an ancient civilization historical fiction novel with storylines of LGBTQ, disability, and mythology.
As always, I reviewed a few more books on Amazon and Goodreads, but they haven’t made it to the blog yet.

Lewis Fraser is in trouble. He’s fallen hopelessly for office colleague Christopher Wright. Unable to break his attraction, he’s determined to melt the ice and get to know him better. Not easy when the man barely says two words.

Sweet Temperaments: A Workp...Shop on AmazonWicked for Hire (Paranormal in Manhattan Cozy Mystery #1) by Lotta Smith
Medical student Amanda Meyer thought she had her life all planned out until people started dying the moment they touched her. Being cleared of any wrongdoing didn’t stop the medical school from expelling her, and it didn’t rid her of the unfortunate nickname Grim Reaper.
Luckily, having a rep as the harbinger of death isn’t a total resume killer. Rick Rowling, Special Agent for the FBI’s Paranormal Cases Division recruits her to work for the Bureau. But the sexy, brilliant, outrageous loose cannon proves to be just as untouchable as the mysterious creature or creatures that may be responsible for the seemingly unsolvable murder that becomes their first case together.
Instead of treating patients, Amanda’s life becomes a test of her patience and a wild ride into the wicked paranormal world where her new boss runs the show. Together they face a ghoulish force that could destroy the entire city and a grueling family dinner that could leave Amanda contemplating harakiri. It’s a battle of life and debt [student debt, that is] and saving the world has never been so funny.

Hi Gina,
Hope you’re doing fine. The books on display are interesting based on description. But two of them appeal to me. And they are, ‘A Haunting at Havenwood by Sally Britton and The Overly Honest Teacher by Meredith Essalat.’ The pumpkin snack board is a beautiful touch.
The article, ‘3 Easy DIY ways to make your house smell like fall also provides ideas one could use by making use of a variety of dried fruits and flowers to produce different scents for the home. I particularly like the scent of chamomile.
Wishing you a great weekend.
Chika.
