Children’s Kitty Series by Sarah Linx
Counting Kitties – Emerging young readers can count their way up from numbers 1-10 while rhyming their way through situations that our beloved furry family members could get themselves into throughout the day!
Kitty’s First Day of School – Kitty the Calico, is a young and energetic kitten who is going to school for the very first time. While at first she was scared to be away from home for so long, Kitty quickly learns that school is nothing to be afraid of.
A Sparrow Alone by Mim Eichmann – Historical Fiction
The 1890s, Colorado. Following her mother’s sudden death, thirteen-year-old Hannah Owens is hired as domestic help by a wealthy doctor’s family in Colorado Springs. When the doctor declares bankruptcy and abandons his family to finance his mistress Pearl DeVere’s brothel, Hannah is thrown into a world of gold mining bonanzas and busts, rampant prostitution, and the economic, political and cultural upheavals of the era. Two of Cripple Creek’s most colorful historic characters, Winfield Scott Stratton, the eccentric owner of the richest gold mine in Cripple Creek, and Pearl DeVere, the beautiful madam of The Old Homestead come to life as this old-fashioned, coming-of-age saga unfolds, a tribute to the women who set the stage for women’s rights.
Resilience Road by Beth Koritz – Memoir/Self-Help
How many times have you taken a look at your life and thought these words? “Things have got to change.” Well, Beth had said them before, but when she opened her eyes in the ICU, paralyzed from the neck down and facing a tremendous fight to regain very basic functions, she knew she finally meant them. Her story is one of resilience: in the face of disease, life’s unexpected curves, and a journey that veers off the track. With total honesty and refreshing humor, Beth reflects on the checklist-style life she’d been living and conquering. Career. Husband. Kids. House in the suburbs.
But then her body tells her in no uncertain terms that it’s time to slow down and take a hard look at what she has… and what she really wants. In sharing her own deeply personal experiences, Beth introduces us to the tools and philosophies she has developed along the way and now uses in her therapy practice. This is the story of a courageous comeback that is really a breakthrough to living an authentic life on your own terms.
Flight of the Spark by Evelyn Puerto, Book 1 of the Outlawed Myth Fantasy series – Dystopian YA
How far would you go to be safe… to be free…to be loved?
Iskra doesn’t question the rules. The rules are there to keep her safe from those who are deemed unsafe or unfair. Anyone who breaks the rules is taken, never to be heard from again. But that’s the price everyone gladly pays for peace and safety. And no one wants to live like the Riskers–barbarians who reject order and justice and could kill or be killed at any moment.
When a friend is taken because of Iskra, the guilt forces her to do the unthinkable: seek out the Riskers. Iskra’s quest to save her friend quickly entangles her fate with a cryptic prophecy and a young Risker named Xico, who ensnares her heart and is willing to put it all on the line to win her.

Hi Gina,
Hope you are doing great. This Friday Finds issue is really amazing. The books generally have interesting storylines.
The fried chicken with country gravy and vanilla ice cream look delicious. They provide ideas of what I would like to prepare for Easter Celebration.
Keep living the dream and have a wonderful Easter Celebration.
Best,
Chika
Thanks Chika,
I’m glad you enjoyed this issue. Please let me know if you try any of this week’s picks.
Stay safe & healthy!
Gina
The kitty series looks really cute! Have a very happy Easter!
Sarah Linx’ kids book series looks adorable, but I am rather intrigues by Mim Eichman’s historical fiction.
And since the ice cream is no Sweetened Condensed Milk required (I have none in the house) it is on the list for the weekend menu!
My daughter is a huge Harry Potter fan. For her sake I might attempt a Harry Potter knit.
Lovely finds this Friday, Gina! Thank you and Happy Easter xx
