Excerpt from Haunted Ends 3
The bronze statue of Juan Bautista de Anza greeted them as Rocky parked the car in the roundish parking lot. Rocky glanced at the statue, finding it rather odd to see a Spanish conquistador riding through the park, perched on a beautiful stone horse.
Man on a horse? He thought. Surely not. The statue wasn’t there the last time he visited… though it had been a long time.
As he turned to the statue, the statue’s head turned to him, winked then returned to normal. Rocky felt the expression fall from his face.
“You see that?” he gulped. “Dude…” he waved his hand towards the backseat to gain Sam’s attention even though he wasn’t looking at Sam. His hand sliced directly through Sam’s stomach, causing his image to waver slightly.
“What?” Sam muttered.
Rocky jumped out of his car, pointing to the statue. “That! That statue winked at me!” he proclaimed in front of a large group of school children on a field trip. The children all giggled at the madman as their teachers hurried them away from the area.
Sam floated from the car and over to the statue. “Oh, him? Yeah. He’s our eyewitness. Come on, let me introduce you—”

My thoughts on Haunted Ends 3: Disco Inferno
Haunted Ends 3: Disco Inferno is a fun read full of ghosts, time travel, and mystery. It reads like a cozy mystery and will capture your full attention.
I should confess the early 1970s were my coming-of-age era, so the late 70s disco craze is firmly planted in my memory…the good and the bad!
This story captures the pure campiness of the time when platform shoes and the Hustle reigned supreme.
The author does an excellent job of developing the characters and timeline for the story. I have not read the first books in the series but had no problem filling in the blanks and enjoying this tale. But, I do think I’ll be adding this series to my To-Be-Read list.
Fans of timeslip fiction, ghosts, cozy mysteries, and fun, fast reads will love this book!
I received a copy of the book for the tour. This review is my honest, unbiased opinion.

A Fun Interview with Elizabeth Price
How long have you been writing?
I started writing my first novel when I was fourteen, back in 1991. I’ll let you do the math because I’m horrible at it.
How do you choose your character names?
Wait… I’m allowed to choose? I never knew that was an option. Most of my characters come to me pre-named. Well, maybe not exactly, but it feels like it. Typically, I start writing, and a name falls into place. The idea of Rose’s character came from an image of Rose Mcgowan I found on the internet — it stuck. The others are a mix of real people I’ve met and “oh, that works” moments.
What inspired you to write in this genre?
I love researching haunted houses, hotels, and other spooky places. I figured it was about time I wrote about them.
If an author fictionalized your life, in which genre would the story belong?
Metaphysical comedy – philosophically speaking.
Do you have a set writing schedule?
HA, ha, ha… uh, what was that again? Oh, yes, a writing schedule. Typically, or at least I used to back before April 2020. Now, I have to fight for fifteen minutes here and there.
Do you need silence to write, or can you work in any environment?
My new BFF since April 2020 is my noise-canceling headphones. I’m an emersion writer, or at least that’s when I write my best work. I would be ecstatic to work in a soundproof vault if I had the opportunity.
If you could set up your perfect writing scenario, what would it involve?
The before mentioned vault, a case of Bubly water, two large coffees (cutting back), a large bag of Skittles— and no one to bother me for at least ten hours.
What is your most unusual writing quirk?
When I’m writing the Haunted Ends series, I listen to music from Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion ride. The music from the ride inspires me to write.
Do you usually arrive early, on time, or late?
Early, so I can scope out the area for local coffee shops. If I need to leave early, and traffic is horrible, which it typically is here in Southern California, I know where to hang out and write for a few hours.
If you could form the ultimate writer’s group, which authors, past or present, would you invite to join you?
Neil Gaiman, Samuel Clemens, Emily Dickenson, Terry Brooks, and possibly Steven King— depending on what he’s currently writing. He scares the bejeebers out of me. I would have chosen Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, but I think my mind would explode after ten minutes of listening to him.
Do you have a favorite snack or beverage while you are writing?
Skittles! Anyone who follows me on Twitter knows that I have an addiction to Skittles. And then there’s my little (ha!) issue with coffee. Coffee, coffee, coffee, coffee—
Which three words best describe you?
Unforgettable, whimsical, kind-hearted
Is there anything you would like my readers to know about you and your book?
If at any time, especially while you’re reading any of the Haunted Ends series, Sam visits you, don’t believe anything he tells you. I’ve been informed (via Ouija board) that Sam has been taking credit for ghostwriting the series.
