My thoughts on Hive

This is my original review of Crossing in Time, which represents the Origin Story for my reading tastes. I went back and re-read my review to see if it made it any easier for me to put my thoughts on Hive into words. No, not really. Next, I re-read the entire Crossing in Time series and a reread of Hive! I'm not any closer to putting my love of this series on paper. But, WOW, I am even more intrigued by all the possibilities for Isabel, Diego, and Matt. My wish for you is to read these books for yourself. I hope you will be as captivated as I am!

However, I promised a review, so here is my humble attempt.

🔥 One of my Best Reads of 2025!

What a wild, brutal, brilliant ride! Hive drops you into a dystopian nightmare and refuses to let go-and I loved every second of it. This isn't your typical post-apocalyptic survival tale. Orton blends razor-sharp world-building, fierce female resilience, and sci-fi grit with haunting emotional depth.

The characters, especially the women, are raw and unforgettable, grappling with identity, control, and the terrifying cost of survival in a fractured world. I was hooked from the first page and couldn't turn them fast enough.

It's gritty, smart, thought-provoking, and deeply human. Hive earns its place on my Best of 2025 list without question. Do not miss this one if you're into high-stakes survival, dark timelines, and fiercely written heroines.
