Fearless, observant, witty, and determined, she is torn between her attraction to King Veras’ good nature and the unexplained pull to the Tracker Calak. The challenge that she faces is not simple. As the old gods, laws, and magic awaken, so does her own sense of self. There is a choice to be made, step into the role expected of her, or dive into the unknown and make her own destiny.
This YA fantasy novel asks the reader important coming-of-age questions and captures the attention with witty dialogue, relatable characters, and a world that is reawakening its forgotten magic. The readers will be entranced and hungry for more (and perhaps a piece of chocolate cake).
PG-13 +M: There is a scene where our main character is held at knifepoint and her attacker grabs her breasts without consent. The word ‘nipple’ is used in this situation. This is the reason for the added “M” in the rating.

Falling in Love with My Characters by Michelle Garyfalakis
Every book that I have loved has been filled with characters that I would be happy to exist amongst. For me, it is the driving force behind a great book. So when I sat down to write Kingdomless, that was my priority. I spent more time crafting the personalities and quirks of my characters more than anything else. It started with Raelle, our female main character. I wanted to find a way to portray innocence and naivety without automatically being considered weak. Enter her three older brothers. Men who have watched over her since her arrival in the Western Kingdom and taking time to train and educate her.
When Raelle finds herself surrounded by her family’s former enemies, it would was my mission to challenge her thinking. I often say that I’m probably the villain in someone’s story. Meaning that at some point in my life, it is likely that I have done something or said something that painted myself in a light that doesn’t fully reflect who I am as a person. So it is in literature. Not all bad characters are bad. And not all good characters are good.
Kingdomless will take the reader on the same journey as Raelle. Who can you trust? Who has betrayed you? Where should you place your faith?
I hope that everyone who reads Kingdomless falls in love with these characters as much as I have and then continue the journey with Forging Hope: The Evamore Series Book 2 which is being released on June 22, 2022.

My thoughts on Kingdomless
Kingdomless grabs the reader from the opening pages. I was thoroughly entranced by this story. While it is a young-adult fantasy, there is something to entertain readers of all ages.
The book is well-paced, entertaining, and the world-building is exceptional. I wasn’t expecting this level of intricately woven storylines in a debut novel.
The reader is left with quite a few questions at the end of the book. However, since this is listed at book one, the next in the series should tie up any loose-ends,
I highly recommend Kingdomless to all lovers of romantic fantasy and great world building. I will definitely read the next in the series.
