Guest Post by Manasi Vegesna on her favorite time of year.

I published Maya’s Tiny Warriors on October 2, the beginning of my favorite time of the year. As soon as it hits the beginning of October, I start planning my Halloween costume and mentally preparing myself for the scary-movie-a-thon I have with my friends. This year, I rewatched the entire Scream franchise; no matter how many times I finish it, the plot twists never get old. I usually despise horror, so coming from me, that’s a surprise.

And of course, I couldn’t miss out on all of the pumpkin-flavored goodies from bakeries! Curling up with Gilmore Girls and my coffee (the drink is mainly for the aesthetic), I spend my Friday evenings indoors. Personally, I’m a Jess girl, and I will not accept any other answers. Also, the beginning of this binge means I can bring out the fluffy sweaters and socks from storage. I live in Arizona, so I can’t stock up too much on sweaters, but I like to pretend the air is chillier than 80°F.

Then, right after Halloween, the anticipation for Christmas begins. With the Thanksgiving break and the holiday spirit, school flies by. Before I know it, it’s time to wrap gifts, plan Secret Santa, and repeatedly sing Jingle Bells. This year, I’ve already started making my Christmas list, consisting of new shoes, many books, and skincare products. More than anything, this season is a mindset and I’m glad I can experience it with my new book.
