Review: From Foster Care to Millionaire: A Young Entrepreneur’s Story of Tragedy and Triumph by Cody McLain is so much more than a rags-to-riches story. It’s an engaging and inspirational portrait of determination.
From Foster Care to Millionaire: A Young Entrepreneur's Story of Tragedy and Triumph by Cody McLainPublished by Cody McLain on 11/07/2018
Genres: Autobiography, Non-fiction
Format: Audiobook, eBook, Paperback
Pages: 336
Cody's story offers all the components you'd expect from the success story of a young entrepreneur with Aspergers-motivation, drive, perseverance, focus, and passion. You might call it a rags-to-riches tale, and you wouldn't be wrong. But that here-to-there narrative is only the top layer. Cody's story unfolds to reveal a narrative that is more complicated and yet simpler, more central, to the human experience. What remains is the story of a boy, burdened like all of us with deep wounds and great gifts, searching for a purpose. What remains is a story that will inspire readers to find their true calling and work like hell to achieve their dreams.

My review: From Foster Care to Millionaire
From Foster care to Millionaire follow the incredible journey of Cody McLain. Surviving a rough childhood that includes short stays in foster care to being left on his own in the cruel world, Cody rises above it all with his incredible dedication and drive.
His story shows the devastating effects of alcoholism on a family. It portrays how badly we can be hurt by the ones who are supposed to love us the most. Yet, proves the adage, blood doesn’t always make a family. Love and care can come from unexpected sources.
As for the actual storytelling, the pace was reasonably smooth. The dialogue was believable and reflected the age and mindset of the characters. There was enough intrigue to keep the pages turning until the end. Cody’s story will leave you wanting to know more about this remarkable young man.

Sounds like a fascinating and inspiring book! Thank you for sharing.
It was surprisingly good. I wasn’t really expecting it to be an autobiography when I picked it up. That made it even better.
It does seem that there’s a connection between deep wounds and great giftedness.
Always happy to read a good book review!
Thank you for reading. It’s an amazing story.
I wasn’t expecting this to be an autobiography! Great short review
Thanks. Cody’s life is a great story. Since I’ve quit including the plot in my reviews, they are a lot shorter & to the point. Especially since the synopsis is right above my review. Lol thanks for reading!
I read this book too! I had very similar views to it that you did. I liked how he ended it too 🙂
