The Royals Next Door is the first book I have read from Karina Hale. I enjoyed it for its light-hearted fun and likable characters. While it is a thinly-veiled take off on a current pair of royals, they aren’t the focus of this story. Their bodyguard and the gal living on the island estate could have carried the story without ever introducing the “Royals.” Take this book the way it was meant, as a fun escape for a few hours.

Chester the Almost Pirate by Ann P. Borrmann deserves a spot in every home, school, and daycare library. Chester and his first mate, Roger the Octopus, have a fun time at pirate school while trying to earn their coveted black eye patch. There are lots of giggles and lessons in this cute children’s picture book.
Jacyn: Through the Darksilver is the prequel to the Through the Darksilver series from Hazel Hunter. This quick 2-hour read has everything you can want in a Paranormal Vampire Fantasy Romance! Take a few minutes to fall in love with Jacyn, Kara, and their dual world’s. Watch for my review of the rest of the series shortly.
I highly recommend this delightful tale to readers of all ages. Early readers may need a bit of help with reading Baker’s guidebook. I know I learned a lot from this book and can’t wait to read it with my grandchildren. Baker and Taylor The Mystery of the Library Cats will make a wonderful gift.
