If you love a atmospheric dark fantasy romance, start this series today! Although you might want to read Jacyn, the prequel first, it’s not necessary.
The Royals Next Door is the first book I have read from Karina Hale. I enjoyed it for its light-hearted fun and likable characters. While it is a thinly-veiled take off on a current pair of royals, they aren’t the focus of this story. Their bodyguard and the gal living on the island estate could have carried the story without ever introducing the “Royals.” Take this book the way it was meant, as a fun escape for a few hours.
