My Thoughts on Tales from a Roundabout-Volume 1
“Tales from a Roundabout” is a riotously funny collection of short stories penned by Jeff Stanger. Set in Carmel, Indiana, a city infatuated with art, status, and traffic circles, the book delivers a dose of hilarity when you need it most.
Stanger weaves tales that revolve around Carmel’s quirks, including the ban on a gentlemen’s club establishment that leads to a revenge-fueled spectacle in a prominent roundabout. As the uproar unfolds, the Lakewood Estates Association Moms, middle school boys, a club owner, and even the mayor become entangled in escalating absurdities.
The stories blend small-town politics with ludicrous theatrics, resulting in a laugh-out-loud, fast-paced read. With entertaining characters and witty dialogues, Stanger captures the essence of suburban life with a zany twist.
If you’re a fan of authors like Tim Dorsey and Carl Hiaasen, this book is a must-read. So, put on “LoadOut/Stay” and immerse yourself in the sidesplitting escapades of Carmel’s residents.
