The 14 April 2023 Friday Finds are here with TWO new Author/Blogger of the Week, Indie Author News, Delicious Healthy Recipes, and a Knitting Nod to Outlander.
Hello, my friends & welcome to the 14 April 2023 Fun!
Are you enjoying beautiful spring weather where you live? We could not have asked for a better week here.. Outside chores are moving along nicely. Plants are showing up in the garden and flower beds. The windows are open, and all the dreary winterness is blowing away. Spring always rejuvenates my spirits!
I had a tie in the March Question of the Week contest. So, Jessica A. & Eve G. both received an Amazon gift card in appreciation of their support. I also added them to the list of upcoming featured authors. Be sure you look for the Question of the Week each Friday. You never know what prize will be offered, but I do try to make it relevant to the winner.
I hope you enjoy this week’s post, and be sure you leave a comment below voting for your favorite find of the week.
Peace & Love
Note: I will share purchase links on all recommended items if possible. Every purchase made through my links helps support this blog.

Today I chose two people that are authors AND bloggers for my weekly feature spots.
Rachel Mankowitz writes an amazingly entertaining and educational blog called The Cricket Pages and is the author of the Young Adult novel Yeshiva Girl. You can read my review here. I learn something new from Rachel every week, whether it’s about life, religion, family, or the escapades of her dogs.
Raina Nightingale is a prolific blogger and author. Her website is Enthralled by Love, and you can find her books on Amazon. I’ll have a review of her latest release, Heart of Fire (Dragon-Mage, Book One), soon.
Would you like to be featured as my Author/Blogger of the Week? Please drop me a comment below to let me know. That’s all it takes! If no one “volunteers,” I have systems in place to choose one.

Friday Finds | 14 April 2023 | Books
The Echo of Old Books: A Novel by Barbara Davis
A novel about the magical lure of books and summoning the courage to rewrite our stories by the Amazon Charts bestselling author of The Keeper of Happy Endings and The Last of the Moon Girls.
Rare book dealer Ashlyn Greer’s affinity for books extends beyond the intoxicating scent of old paper, ink, and leather. She can feel the echoes of the books’ previous owners—an emotional fingerprint only she can read. When Ashlyn discovers a pair of beautifully bound volumes that appear to have never been published, her gift quickly becomes an obsession. Not only is each inscribed with a startling incrimination, but the authors, Hemi and Belle, tell conflicting sides of a tragic romance.

The Wager: A Tale of Shipwreck, Mutiny and Murder by David Grann
From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Killers of the Flower Moon, a page-turning story of shipwreck, survival, and savagery, culminating in a court martial that reveals a shocking truth. The powerful narrative reveals the deeper meaning of the events on The Wager, showing that it was not only the captain and crew who ended up on trial but the very idea of empire.
The Wager is a grand tale of human behavior at the extremes told by one of our greatest nonfiction writers. Grann’s recreation of the hidden world on a British warship rivals the work of Patrick O’Brian, his portrayal of the castaways’ desperate straits stands up to the classics of survival writing such as The Endurance, and his account of the court martial has the savvy of a Scott Turow thriller. As always with Grann’s work, the incredible twists of the narrative hold the reader spellbound.

Tell Me Your Dreams by Amanda Kloots
From the bestselling author of Live Your Life, Broadway actress, fitness instructor, and co-host of The Talk, Amanda Kloots comes Tell Me Your Dreams, a heartwarming original picture book inspired by Kloots’ own bedtime rituals with her son, Elvis.
It’s bedtime for baby. But before baby goes to sleep, he tells Mom about all the things he wants to dream about. From soaring across clouds of vanilla ice cream to driving a train across the ocean, baby can do anything! Including seeing his beloved Dada again.
Tell Me Your Dreams is a touching story sure to inspire parents to start their own dream-sharing routines. Filled with Amanda Kloots’ trademark positivity, this picture book will create a safe space for children to express their hopes and dreams, preparing them for a peaceful night’s sleep.

I really want to read or listen to The Echo of Old Books. I have read some really good reviews of it. I don’t really have a favourite. Depending on the week, I find things I like in different sections of Friday Finds.
We are enjoying the nice weather too! It’s supposed to get cold again though this weekend. We can’t plant in the garden yet because we still might get frost here.
My favorite segments of the Friday Finds are the Indie Authors, of course, but I may be a little biased, lol!
Have a great weekend!
Echo of old books The title alone captivates me…what will it be about?
The Wager I love sea stories and storms, it doesn’t get better.
Tell me your dreams If I had a grandkid, this would be perfect.
All three of today’s books are a dead on match for what I look for. It is a marvelous Friday!!
Thanks, Lou! I know I can’t please everyone, so I generally choose what suits me best. Lol. Glad they appealed to you too!
Thank you for having systems in place, so happy to receive your posts, and honored to be a winner! I like all the segments, crafts, books, and of course delicious recipes! Gina, you always offer great choices!
Gina, I don’t have a book releasing soon but I did just finish my third book in a box set and start the fourth book and on chapter three. I write for fun. The series is Is called How Do You Like Me Now?
