My thoughts on The Journey of Artemis: Exodus
When the author approached me about a review of his debut novel, I admit I was hesitant. Space Opera/Science Fiction is not in my go-to genre of books. However, I am so happy I agreed. This book had me gripped from the opening pages.
The premise is believable and the characters are each well-developed. The pace is understandably a little slow at the beginning. There is a lot of dystopian world to build and each player needs to be fleshed out for the reader. Mr. Louis has done a remarkable job with this.
After humans nearly destroy planet Earth through nuclear wars, what is left is attacked by an alien race. Artemis is chosen to lead the search for a new home for Earth’s citizens. She faces incredible hazards, conspiracies, and obstacles. The action is intense but well thought out. Each twist and turn leads to a great ending. I am a sucker for strong female leads and great dog companions. Exodus has both.
This is a fast-paced story that will keep you turning the pages quickly. It is billed as book one and the tale wraps up nicely with enough openings to leave you ready for the next book.
I think lovers of sci-fi, dystopian, and post-apocalyptic fiction will enjoy this book.
The only improvement I would like to see is more editing for grammar and conciseness. The story itself is wonderfully entertaining and I think it has incredible potential.
I received a digital copy of the book from the author or publisher to review. This is my honest, unbiased opinion.

I don’t read space operas much, but Rob is a fan of them! I’m glad you enjoyed this! I’m also a sucker for strong female leads and doggos.
