Welcome to the 03-15-2024 edition of the weekly Friday Finds.
It’s been a busy week around here, but in the midst of the chaos, inspiration struck. I have a gazillion ideas for the blog and for cleaning and organizing my house. I would say Spring Fever has arrived on the farm!!
In typical fashion…I started lists, lots of lists. We’ll see how it goes. Follow along with my progress, or just place a bet on how long the inspiration stays with me.
Spring grass seed has been spread, and the garden tiller is tuned up and out of the barn. My favorite red-headed woodpecker returned this week. He is such a hoot to watch. He pecks the tree a bit, looks around to see if anyone is watching, and then dives down to steal birdseed from the feeder. He’s a sly one.
Until next week, Peace & Love to you!
Gina

This week, I promised you Irish, St. Pat’s, and green desserts. I had a ton of fun searching for these, but they also made me quite hungry!
These Pistachio Cream Bars have a shortbread cookie base, and the filling is a cross between a pudding and a cheesecake.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
St. Patrick’s Day Dessert Shots are miniature, cute, no-bake, and can be made in 15 minutes. And best of all, they have Baileys Irish Cream in them (or use Irish Cream extract if you want to avoid the alcohol) AND chocolate in the form of 2-bite brownies. They are ideal for your St. Patrick’s Day celebration!
You can also check today’s corresponding email newsletter for more recipes. (Don’t get the Friday Finds email? Sign up on the sidebar! ) —>
So far, the Friday Finds has featured St. Patrick’s Day breakfast and dinner recipes. Tune in next week for Easter recipes.
This book was released yesterday, and since I am already a fan of Stephen Curry, I can’t wait to read it.
I Am Extraordinary by Stephen Curry
In his sophomore picture book, NBA superstar Stephen Curry encourages kids to embrace the differences that make them extraordinary! #1 Best-seller on Amazon’s Children’s Books on Disabilities and in the Soccer category.
It’s the first day of school for Zoe, a young girl with hearing loss who dreams of playing on her school’s soccer team. But, self-conscious of her hearing aids, Zoe is too nervous to try out. With the help of and perspectives from new friends, what begins as a bumpy, anxiety-filled start for Zoe soon transitions into an eye-opening experience about what it means to be different—and what it means to be extraordinary. I Am Extraordinary teaches kids how to look inside themselves to find self-acceptance and the confidence to achieve any goal.
Three-Inch Teeth (A Joe Pickett Novel) by C.J. Box
Amazon Editors’ pick for Best Mystery, Thriller & Suspense
Wyoming game warden Joe Pickett faces two different kinds of rampaging beasts—one animal, one human—in this riveting new novel from #1 New York Times bestseller C.J. Box.
A rogue grizzly bear has gone on a rampage—killing, among others, the potential fiancé of Joe’s daughter. At the same time, Dallas Cates, who Joe helped lock up years ago, is released from prison with a special list tattooed on his skin. He wants revenge on the people who sent him away: the six people he blames for the deaths of his entire family and the loss of his reputation and property.
Using the grizzly attacks as cover, Cates sets out to methodically check off his list. The problem is, both Nate Romanowski and Joe Pickett are on it.
Rochelle Bradley is a favorite author of mine and a supporter of this blog. In her recent newsletter, she made several announcements, but this one is awesome news.
Weekly Friday Finds | 03-15-2024 | Trivia Time
This week’s trivia question is:
Eons ago, when I was in high school, I was obsessed with Shakespeare novels. Can you remember who said, ‘All the world’s a stage’ and what book it was from?
The answer to last week’s question:
What is the term for a decorative technique of inlaying pieces of wood, metal, ivory, or other materials into a wood surface? I was going for marquetry, but evidently, this technique has differing names. Who knew??
Therefore, everyone who commented last week will be entered into the April 1, 2024 drawing! You get double entries if you are also a Friday Finds email subscriber.
[…] Last week’s Friday Finds featured crochet. Did you fall in love with that sweater? I’m in a Spring mood this week, even though we’ve had snow flurries off and on. […]
Although it is past St. Patrick’s Day, I want to try those Bailey’s Parfaits.
I love it because you can make them with 2-bite brownies. Super easy! And to be honest…Chocolate & Bailey’s desserts are perfect anytime!
I definitely agree!
Sorry I’m a little late. I hope you had a great weekend! Those crochet flowers are really neat! The trivia answer is “As You Like It”
Have a great week!
It’s never too late, Jessica. Your replies do make me smile every week. Throwing your name in the vase 2 more times!
I appreciate all your effort to curate a Friday Finds post! It must be time consuming. Btw…..when I read your posts in WP Reader, it says comments are closed. I have to exit the reader and go to the web version to comment. Ok for me but others might skip commenting if it requires an extra step. Happy spring! 🌷
That’s happened before & I don’t know what causes it. I’ll see if I can research it over the weekend. Thanks for the kind words, Carol. I appreciate it.
