This book, Why Mom, Why?, is the story of Chili, a Russian (Horsefield) tortoise. Chili is a very patient tortoise that always waits for her friend Tank to be fed first. She realizes that her mom has a routine to feed Tank first. Mom picks up on Chili's sadness when Chili would sit closer to her while feeding Tank. Chili needed the attention and was passively acting out. This book is about the silent communication between the pet and owner. Why Mom, Why? can be closely related to sibling rivalry in human beings. This is Book Two in the "Where is he? Tank, the Tortoise" series.

My Thoughts on Why Mom, Why?
Why Mom, Why? by Parimalasri Docktor is a charming children’s picture book that gently explores patience, understanding, and sibling rivalry—big lessons wrapped up in a sweet, relatable story.
Chili, the Russian tortoise, might be a good role model for any child who struggles with feelings of fairness and frustration. Kids will easily connect with Chili’s experiences and emotions, making this a great book for starting conversations about understanding others and learning to be patient.
The author’s love for her pet tortoises is clear on every page, adding a personal touch that makes the story even more engaging. The simple, easy-to-read text paired with bright, vibrant illustrations makes Why Mom, Why? a delightful read-aloud for little ones and an enjoyable experience for parents, too.

About Parimalasri Docktor
Parimalasri Docktor, the author of Where is he? Tank the Tortoise, Tortoise Goes to the Vet, and Let’s Hide From Mom, was featured in CBS-3 News coverage in Philadelphia. She has had the opportunity of book-signing events in and around the Philadelphia region. She has sold her books internationally as well. This book, Let’s Hide From Mom, is a sequel to her second book, Tortoise Goes to the Vet.
Being called the “tortoise whisperer,” the author enjoys her interactions with her pet tortoises. Having four tortoises helps the author to be more creative and encourages her in writing and illustrating her own books. The author self-taught digital art, and this is her second book that is fully illustrated by her.
She enjoys beadwork, painting, drawing and pyrography.
