2021 Friday Finds June 11
Hello and welcome to this week’s edition of books, recipes, and crafts. I’m home from my travels to see the northern babies. We had a delightful, but fast trip. That’s part of the joy of having family close by, you can make more frequent short trips.
The weather has been HOT and unfortunately rather dry. Lots of rain around us, but not much falling here on the farm. As I write this, it’s foggy and very humid. It’s also incredibly noisy outside. The Brood X cicadas are certainly making their presence known. Do you have many where you live?
The winner drawn from last week’s comments is Wanda D Janaway. You will find her on my BookShop as the featured author of the week. Leave a comment on this post to be entered in next week’s drawing for a spot as a featured author or blogger, or an alternative prize of a gift card.
Now on to the good stuff!

2021 Friday Finds June 11 – Books
Soulful and uproarious, forceful and tender, Untamed is both an intimate memoir and a galvanizing wake-up call. It is the story of how one woman learned that a responsible mother is not one who slowly dies for her children, but one who shows them how to fully live. It is the story of navigating divorce, forming a new blended family, and discovering that the brokenness or wholeness of a family depends not on its structure but on each member’s ability to bring her full self to the table.
And it is the story of how each of us can begin to trust ourselves enough to set boundaries, make peace with our bodies, honor our anger and heartbreak, and unleash our truest, wildest instincts so that we become women who can finally look at ourselves and say: There She Is.
Church of the Assassin by Ross Harrison
KILL ONE TO SAVE A HUNDRED
Alexiares spends her time killing, tinkering with a car she never drives, and wondering if she’s a sociopath. This simple life is complicated by a deadly purge of her sect and she finds herself on the run, trying to make sense of the slaughter. She’s not alone: the broken-minded assassin has inherited a baby girl. But how can hands that know only how to squeeze necks and strip engines ever nurture a child? When painful revelations, betrayals, and secrets show Alexiares that her life can only cause Baby pain and suffering, she’ll have to make a difficult choice.
What Should Danny Do? by Adir Levy
With 9 Stories in 1, the fun never ends! What Should Danny Do? is an innovative, interactive book that empowers kids with the understanding that their choices will shape their days, and ultimately their lives into what they will be.
Written in a “Choose Your Own Story” style, the book follows Danny, a Superhero-in-Training, through his day as he encounters choices that kids face on a daily basis. As your children navigate through the different story lines, they will begin to realize that their choices for Danny shaped his day into what it became. And in turn, their choices for themselves will shape their days, and ultimately their lives, into what they will be.

The Barty Barton book looks adorable!
Sorry I’m late to the post. We had a yard sale on Saturday and I must’ve been too busy on Friday to read my email! The good news is that we sold 4 of our books at our yard sale! 🙂
Awesome news for you! You are welcome on the blog any day!
I enjoyed reading about all the books, recipes, crafts and your trip. The books look like great reads.
I live in a very small town in PA here in the north and I’m loving the weather Hot, humid, rainy, windy. I don’t like humidity but do I have many cicadas where I live? No I don’t. Actually, I haven’t seen any nor I haven’t heard any either and I live near the woods.
Wouldn’t mind trying all those recipes especially the No Bake Berry Lush and A Everything Bagel Breakfast Bundtwich.
Thanks
