Friday Finds for 5 August 2022 |

Hello, my friends & welcome to the 5 August 2022 Fun!

The summer fun with the grandkids is over for this year. Some are starting back to school in a week or so, the others are in daycare for now. But they are all back home and “sleeping” in their own beds instead of tents and blanket forts. They enjoyed their time on the farm, whether it was swimming, picking vegetables, riding bikes, or chasing barn cats. I love having everyone here…but oh my, am I ever tired?

This week has been lots of reading, catching up on blog chores, and the never-ending canning of fruits and vegetables. This morning the gardener and I froze thirteen quarts of sweet corn and a gallon of blackberries. I think it will be green beans tomorrow. The cucumbers are very bitter this year due to the excessive heat and drought. I managed to salvage a few for cucumber & onion salads, but most went into the compost bin. Turnips were planted by the old adage…plant on the 25th of July, wet or dry. Do you know the rest of that saying? It always makes me chuckle. I’m hoping fall vegetables fair a little better this year.

As most of you know, I’ve fallen behind on my review requests…again. I will be limiting tours to spotlights and guest posts until I get caught up on reviews owed to authors, publishers, and NetGalley. If I owe you a review, please drop me a reminder to make sure I have you on the schedule.

I hope you enjoy this week’s post and be sure you leave a comment below voting for your favorite find of the week.

Peace & Love

What’s your current favorite creative outlet?

image 5 August 2022 Harrisville Potholder Pro on Amazon

Harrisville is the only potholder loom I recommend. It will last a lifetime…or two.

You are never too young or old to weave potholders. The three-year-old grandson and I made potholders one afternoon. With a little manipulation of strands, we were able to make a smaller set very quickly…before he lost his concentration. He does take after me quite a bit. He carefully chose each color and where it went in the pattern.

Great blog post as usual. I just released my latest book, Wunderling, if you are interested. It’s a little different, but so far it’s been getting some good reviews. I have it on Kindle Unlimited as well.

  2. Thank you so much for including my new math game! I truly appreciate it!
I would absolutely love to hear what blogging tips you have for others. I’m going in so many directions to promote my books like YouTube and blogging, so it’s hard to know what to focus on. Janelle and I spent months and countless hours creating our new book, Liam Lion, and then when I uploaded it to see that setting a price of $12.99 would only give us a royalty of about $4, it really makes it hard to justify all the time spent on creating a book. The good part about it is that we can order author copies and sell them at events where we can potentially make a larger profit margin. But anyway, I’m trying to come up with different ways with affiliates to earn some extra money to justify writing more books. I love writing and don’t want to give it up!
