Friday Finds:  December 9, 2022

Hello, my friends & welcome to the December 9, 2022 edition with author announcements, giftable book recommendations, holiday recipes, and crafts. In the blog roundup at the bottom, you’ll find so many fabulous giveaways from generous authors.

I’m home from my vacation and trying to catch up. I may need another vacation to recover. lol. It was so hard to leave the beautiful weather on Anna Maria Island and head back north. I haven’t seen the sun once since I’ve been back.

But, I have no time to dwell on that as I’m running behind on all the “things”… Christmas shopping, baking, card writing, cleaning, and as always, reading. I must work best in this panic mode because I do it to myself every year!

I hope you enjoy this week’s post and leave me a comment to tell me which categories are your favorite Finds for the month of December.

Peace & Love

Elizabeth Taylor: The Grit & Glamour of an Icon

From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Residence and First Women, the first-ever authorized biography of the most famous movie star of the twentieth century, Elizabeth Taylor.

No celebrity rivals Elizabeth Taylor’s glamour and guts or her level of fame. She was the last major star to come out of the old Hollywood studio system, and she is a legend known for her beauty and her magnetic screen presence in a career that spanned most of the twentieth century and nearly sixty films. But her private life was even more compelling than her Oscar-winning on-screen performances.

Low Carb Cream Cheese Fudge by Maria's Mixing Bowl image

Low Carb Cream Cheese Fudge from Maria’s Mixing Bowl

I’ve been spoiled by my family’s secret fudge recipe my whole life. This sound like a nice substitute if you are trying to be “better” this holiday season. I’m soundly on the naughty list when it comes to indulging in holiday treats.

Kristiana Kringles by Heather from The Cook’s Treat

We love kringle pastries. Almond is one of my grandson’s favorite flavors. I’m a little partial to the raspberry kringles.

Roasted Brussel Sprout Salad from Julia's Album image

Roasted Brussels Sprouts Salad with Maple Butternut Squash, Pumpkin Seeds, and Cranberries

I would serve this just for the beautiful colors presented in the dish…but, I’m sure it tastes as delicious as it looks.

Thank you for participating in the book tour. you have a beautiful blog.

    • Thanks, Carla. I also think you & the grandkids would love the Fawn series from Al E. Boy. I have a giveaway running for the entire 4-book set in hardcover. (Hint: not too many entries so far. Lol)

  2. Eve

I used to live near the beach and got tired of fog, but I’m glad you had lots of sunshine. Those letter ornaments look fun, and the books you recommend sound great too! Hope you catch up and have a fabulous holiday season, Gina.

    • Thanks, Eve. We always run into fog when we go to the Alabama coast of the gulf but not usually in FL

    • It sounds pretty decadent. I wonder how fudge became such a winter holiday favorite? I think it should be a staple of “every” holiday…including weekends!
