Gina's Friday Finds | April 10, 2026

This week's Friday Finds (April 10th) leans into that in-between feeling-when the days are starting to soften, but we're still holding onto our cozy routines just a little longer.

I've gathered a mix of recent reads and a few reader-inspired favorites that feel perfect for a slow weekend. Whether you're in the mood to browse, settle in with a good book, or simply find a small moment of calm, I hope something here speaks to you.

💡 Tip of the Week
Friday Finds April 10, 2026

This week's theme is all about second chances-and your reading life deserves them too.

If something didn't work before, it doesn't mean it never will. Try a different format (audiobook instead of print), a different time of day, or even a slower pace.

Sometimes the smallest shift is all it takes to turn "not for me" into "just right."

This section rotates between healthy tips, recipes, crafts/patterns, and reading life, so if this week's tip doesn't quite fit where you are right now, there is always something different coming up in future Friday Finds.

💬 Reader Question of the Week

If you could give yourself a "second chance" in your reading life, what would it be?

A genre you'd revisit? A book you'd try again? Or maybe just making more time to read each day?

I'd love to hear-reply in the comments or just reflect on it for yourself. 💕

🗓️ Contest closes April 30, 2026 at noon CST.

If your entry arrives after the deadline, it will be added into next month's contest.

The March winner of the GRM reader contest is J.A. They have been notified.

🧺 A Few Cozy Extras

Just a couple of small, cozy finds to complement this week's theme-simple things that can add a little extra comfort to your reading time.

✍️ A Small Place to Start Again

Set of three small agate-pattern notebooks in soft violet, blue, and coral tones with gold foil accents

These pocket-sized notebooks are a simple way to capture thoughts, reading notes, or even a fresh start with a book that didn't quite click the first time.

Small enough to keep nearby, they make it easy to begin again-without pressure.

🕯️ A Moment to Reset

Small beeswax candle set with brass holder, lit on a wooden surface creating a warm, calming atmosphere

Sometimes a fresh start doesn't need a big change-just a quiet moment. Lighting a candle, even for a few minutes, can shift the mood and make space to try again.

This simple beeswax set feels like an invitation to pause, reset, and begin where you are.

🌿 Closing Notes

This week's finds all seemed to circle back to the idea of second chances-quiet ones, the kind we give ourselves in small, everyday ways.

Whether it's picking up a book again, trying a new reading rhythm, or simply creating a moment to pause, there's always room to begin again.

Thanks for spending part of your day with me. 💕

Thank you, Gina Rae, for selecting me as your Author of the Week - it is hugely appreciated. I hope it is OK to mention my series of five novels available on Amazon, currently reduced from $30 to $9.99:

If I could have a second chance in my reading life, I'd go back to when I was in school to actually like reading books instead of dreading reading them because I thought it was just a chore to be done for school because I had to.

  3. My Answer To Question of the Week: if I could give myself a 2nd chance I'd fall in love and marry the guy and we'd have fun together
