It’s time for Gina’s Friday Finds | April 3, 2020. Well, it sounds like our shelter in place rules are going to continue for the time being. Illinois extended ours through at least April 30th. I expect it will last a bit longer. Are you holding up okay? These are such trying times. I am lucky it hasn’t affected my daily life much. Here on the farm, we are already isolated. As long as I have books, food, craft supplies, (lol, try a couple of rooms full), and the internet, I am good. I know so many people are not as fortunate as me, so I count my blessings every day. Video chatting has significantly helped. I just finished reading Build My Own Mighty Machines: Construct 3 Amazing Machines! to one of the grandsons in California. Thank goodness he didn’t ask me to build the lego machines that came with the book.

The Reilly Thanksgiving Invitational Story: As Told by Those Born of the Greatest Generation by Brent Parrott
In 1960, on the front lawn of an elementary school in North East Dallas, a tradition was born. A group of seventh-grade boys captured the free time before Thanksgiving dinner to engage in a game of touch football. It was a good day to play. So good, in fact, that the game would resume each year at the same time in the same place.
Through the ebb and flow of lives, loves, and responsibilities, the Reilly Thanksgiving Invitational continued for five decades. Best friends Brent Parrott and Bryan Renfro have collaborated to memorialize and reminisce about their lives, the times, the game, and the traditions in their book, The Reilly Thanksgiving Invitational Story.
The Golden Viper (The Crimson Deathbringer Trilogy Book 2) by Sean Robins

Despite their crushing defeat on Earth, the Xortaags are back, and with a genius plan that can be the brainchild of only one man in the galaxy, they’ve conquered the Akakie homeworld.
You thought the stakes were high in The Crimson Deathbringer (with Earth conquered and 700 million people killed)? You ain’t seen nothing yet!
Honeycake: A Family Of Spices by Medea Kalantar

The grandmother explains why she calls her grandchildren “Honeycakes” while she teaches her granddaughter how to bake a honey cake.
Through imagination, the grandmother details how each delicious ingredient represents a different family member and his or her unique ethnic background.
This charming book also includes a recipe and step-by-step instructions on how to bake your own delicious batch of honey cake with your Honeycakes!

Weapons of Remorse by Chevron Ross
Hank Phillips makes his living defending the right to bear arms. Privately, he doesn’t ever want to touch a gun again.
Hank is an ex-Marine whose heroism in war earned him the Medal of Honor and a high-profile job with Armed and Ready, America’s most powerful gun-rights organization. He has a devoted wife and son, millions of admirers, and a bright future. But what Hank values most is his relationship with God. Gina’s Friday Finds | April 3, 2020 | Creative Project
I am still trying to justify buying a hexagon loom. Take a look at this flower scarf from Texas Gabi. I don’t know who I would give it to. Maybe I would simply make it into a wrap to throw on the back of the sofa, but it would be so fun to make all the flowers. Being “safe at home”, might be just the excuse I need to tackle a new project! Did you notice I didn’t say “Stuck at Home”, it’s all in the attitude my friend!
Seriously, how fun would that be to make? Pin Loom weaving is incredibly simple, quick, and instantly gratifying. Check out my instructional post for square pin loom weaving.
This is the loom you need to make the flowers.

Seems like you must be quite the reader! I thought the Reilly Thanksgiving Invitational Story and Weapons Remorse sounded pretty interesting.
The hexagonal flowers are pretty but not sure I’d like it around my neck … I’m thinking it would be a cute table runner!
Thanks for stopping by. I agree on the hexagon flowers scarf, but it would look pretty this spring & summer on the back of my couch!
