My thoughts on Ice
Any time a book opens with a listing of the characters and the animals get billing right along with the humans, I know I’m going to enjoy the story. Lauren Carr writes the best dog characters! They steal my heart every time.
Ice is book one of the Chris Mathewson Cold Case Mysteries. I am currently working my way through the entire series. If the rest are as entertaining and book one, I’m in for a treat.
The writing is smooth, the characters are engaging, and the plot is full of endearing moments and deep mystery.
I love that the hero in this story is a little older, giving a different perspective on all aspects of life. He is quite relatable and I can’t wait to read more about Chris and his family.
I’ve always measured dog characters against Gnarly from the Faraday stories, but Sterling more than holds his own. I also loved Thor, the rabbit who thinks he’s a dog!
If you love gripping, page-turning tales with incredible characters, Ice is the perfect book for you.
I received a copy of the book for the tour, read through Kindle Unlimited, or from the library. This review is my honest, unbiased opinion.
