Synopsis:

With a fanciful imagination and a powerful sense of entitlement, Rita had always sculpted her life into scenes that pleased her. Whoever entered her world either joined in her efforts or were left in her deadly wake. Paper Walls is a tale of a seemingly innocent childhood bond that stretches the concept of loyalty to obscene extremes. No one could possibly stand under that burden without collapsing. Witness Rita and Deenie evolve their tight childhood bond into an orchestrated life that inevitably implodes

My Review: Paper Walls by Pamela Parente

Paper Walls by Pamela Parente is an extraordinary psychological thriller. The concept is intriguing and suspenseful. I love a book that makes me think, and this one certainly does that.

The characters are all dynamically written to add purpose to the storyline. There were a few times the narrative jumped a bit, and I failed to follow it, but a quick re-read of a few paragraphs put me back on track. That issue could be as much on me as the book. I sometimes read too fast for my own good.

Without giving away the plot, it’s challenging to go into depth about the story. Paper Walls tells an entertaining, thrilling story while examining the immorality a person is capable of when what they hold near and dear is threatened.

The ending is fantastic, while the epilogue gives hope for a sequel. Kudos to the author for a job well done!

I strongly recommend you pick up a copy of this book if you like psychological thrillers, suspenseful stories, character-based fiction, or just a fabulous quick read.

An interview with Pamela Parente, author of Paper Walls

Review: Paper Walls by Pamela Parente - Author head shot - Black sweater blondish gray hair - sitting in a kitchen

How long have you been writing?

I’ve always wanted to; however, after procrastinating for 65 years, I finally decided to start. Paper Walls is my first book.

What inspired you to write in this genre?

Thriller/crime is my preferred reading genre. Because I believe I have a vivid imagination, I decided to transfer those ideas into words.

Do you have a set writing schedule?

I do not. I keep pen and paper handy and jot down ideas when they come to me. When I’ve gathered a few, I’ll try to blend them into some sort of order.

Do you need silence to write, or can you work in any environment?

I prefer to be alone, but I do not require silence.

Do you usually arrive early, on time, or late?

Always on time.

If you could form the ultimate writer’s group, which authors past or present would you invite to

join you?

I admire Nelson Demille, James Patterson, and Lawrence Sanders. That’s a start, right?

Do you have a favorite snack or beverage while you are writing?

I think I chew gum or drink coffee.

Which three words best describe you?

Original. Imaginative. Empathetic.

Is there anything you would like my readers to know about you and your book?

As I stated before, I always wanted to write. I almost feel as if I’ve “carried” my story for years and finally gave birth. I’ve learned so much through this process, and I am trying to settle down for a sequel.

No matter where you acquire the books you read, please leave a review. Amazon and Goodreads are the most popular places, and you don’t have to own the book to review it. A review doesn’t have to be fancy or in-depth, a simple “Thumbs up. I liked this book.” will help the author immensely.
