My Thoughts on The Confident Hope
“The Confident Hope” by EC Jackson, Book 4 of The Hope Series, delves into the intricate dance of friendship and love, exploring the complexities that arise when emotions go unspoken. Pamela Hayes, a successful business owner with a flourishing bakery, grapples with unrequited feelings for her best friend, Mark. Despite her seemingly perfect life, Pamela’s melancholy lingers, casting a shadow on her happiness.
This book is full of flawed characters. Despite being Pamela’s best friend, Mark comes across as self-absorbed, adding a layer of complexity to their relationship. The ex-girlfriend, Jessica, is portrayed as a narcissistic troublemaker, introducing conflict, tension, and the possibility of infidelity. The exploration of dysfunctional family issues adds to the authenticity of the characters’ experiences.

E.C. Jackson began her writing career with the full-length play Pajama Party. Thirty-one years later, she adapted the play into Pajama Party: The Story, a companion book to the second book in the five-book standalone Hope series.
