My Thoughts on The Two-Cent Piece
“The Two-Cent Piece” by Dennis Conrad, illustrated by Courtney Smith, is a heartwarming children’s Christian picture book and the first installment in the In God We Trust Series. The story revolves around seven-year-old Anne, who discovers a secret her three older brothers are keeping – they have enlisted to fight with the Union Army.
In a touching gesture, Anne gives each of them one of her newly acquired two-cent pieces, explaining that these coins bear the words ‘In God We Trust.’ She shares her recently memorized Psalm 91:2, fostering a message of faith and trust in God.
