Aidan Lonsdale is the most excited he's ever been. He's just begun his freshman year at the prestigious St. Ciaran's College, and his roommate is none other than his best friend Rob. That night, Aidan and Rob attend a dorm party with their new neighbors - the first of several adventures they expect to share in college.
But things take a turn when Aidan becomes the victim of a strange burglary and Rob disappears after walking a girl home. Enlisting help from the one person he befriends at the party, Aidan takes it upon himself to find out who targeted his room and what happened to Rob. Aidan's quest for answers will entangle him in four separate incidents that initially seem unrelated but are, in fact, part of a larger conspiracy. A conspiracy more dangerous than anything he could have imagined.
If Aidan can uncover the truth about what transpired on his first night in college, he will expose the dark secrets lying beneath the pristine facade of St. Ciaran's College. If he fails, he stands to lose far more than the chance to ever find out what happened to his best friend.
Contains strong language, brief violence and sexuality, alcohol and drug use, and references to suicide.

My thoughts on The St. Ciaran’s Chronicles
Overview: “The St. Ciaran’s Chronicles” is intriguing and engaging. The plot has a clear premise and stakes, and the main character’s struggles and development add depth to the story. The blend of mundane college life with thrilling mysteries adds an interesting layer to the plot, and the promise of clues to be uncovered will keep readers engaged.
“The St. Ciaran’s Chronicles” takes place during the first semester at a Catholic liberal arts college. A lot happens to the main character, Aidan Lonsdale, in just a few months. His life turns upside down when his roommate and lifelong friend disappears on their first night at the college, and this sets off a chain of events that changes the lives of many people forever.
At the beginning of the story, Aidan struggles with the loss of his friend, insecurity issues stemming from his perfect older brother, and the typical troubles of an eighteen-year-old boy trying to navigate his first semester of college. He mistakenly believes his life will be all beer and girls. However, he is forced to mature quickly as the semester progresses. He helps the campus police solve a few cases, and soon becomes involved in a much larger mystery.
Although the world building and character development may seem slow and repetitive at times, the storyline is engaging and will keep readers hooked. With elements of theft, drug rings, and bombs, the thrills come at a rapid pace. The author layers clues over mundane freshman issues like, meal cards, dorm parties, and frantic last minute test cramming. You must keep reading to catch the next clue.
The story touches on serious topics such as, abuse of power, drug and alcohol use, trust, and consequences. There is foul language in the book, about what you could expect to hear on a college campus, just maybe not from the priest.
This book is recommended for fans of young-adult fiction, mystery, and suspense.
I received a digital copy of the book from the author or publisher to review. This is my honest, unbiased opinion.
