Gina’s Friday Finds | March 12, 2021

Welcome my friends to this week’s edition.

It’s with a heavy heart that I tell you we lost a wonderful author this week. Kris Loomis passed peacefully at home with her family. This illness was so very unexpected. She went to the Dr with tummy issues and to everyone’s horror, she was diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal cancer. Kris, who also wrote her sweet romances under the pen name of Savannah Adams, was an inspiration and mentor to me. The reading and writing world will miss her exuberant presence. We all ignore symptoms or pass them off as minor. If there is any question…see your doctor and get tested!

Okay, let’s move on to happier topics today. Spring is teasing us here in the midwest USA. My daffodils are peeking their heads up and we had our first thunderstorm this morning. The warmer temps aren’t supposed to last, so I’m enjoying them while I can. There is nothing like reading or working on a project in the spring sunshine.

This week’s comment contest winner is Eric Suddoth. He is the featured author on my BookShop. Each week I choose a winner from all comments on the “Friday Finds” post. You can win a gift card or if you are a published author, a chance to be the featured author of the week. If the winner chooses the gift card, I will pick the featured author or book for the next week. Share this with your friends, the more comments, the more fun!

I’ve several more ideas coming to spruce up the website and increase your enjoyment. Stay tuned. (And leave a comment with any suggestions!)

The Untold Story of The Darkest Days by Eric Suddoth

Shock. Anger. Sorrow.
As the storm clouds rolled into Jerusalem on that execution day, inner turmoil was also raging through the people who knew Jesus.
Confusion. Regret. Guilt.
Darkness quickly covered the world the moment the light of the world took his last breath on the cross.
Doubt. Devotion. Fear.
It didn’t matter if they loved Jesus or hated him. The moment he died, the world sunk into a period of uncertainty.

It was a time when staying in the shadows seemed like the safest place to hide. It was a period when doubt outnumbered the mustard seeds of faith. Some were on the precipice of hopeful belief. Others were wondering if they were awakening to three years of disillusionment.

    Hi Gina,
My condolences on the loss of your friend. May they rest in peace.

  4. Hello Gina,
I’m very sorry to hear of the death of Kris Loomis. I enjoy her writing, too.
On today’s Friday Finds, I like the looks of the tiered tray. I might try that, and I had to order the audiobook of Murder on Kane Lane! I’m looking forward to that as my next fun “listen”.
Thanks for searching for all these goodies for us every week!

    • Thanks so much, Laurie. Kris was a special person. She taught me so much about beta reading and writing reviews. Glad you enjoyed the post today.

Gina – so sorry to hear of the loss of your good friend. Although I don’t know if this was true for her, many people were put off from seeking in-person medical advice due to virus concerns — until their illness had progressed too far. Several musician friends have passed away over these last few weeks from non-Covid issues that would probably have been treatable had the illness been diagnosed earlier. My prayers are with you. Take care, Mim
