Review of Symphony of the Firelli - Book cover

When a freakishly white-skinned baby is found washed up on the shores of the medieval land of Godrin, the dramatic event triggers an exploration of adventure to find what lies beyond Larant’s Ocean, by the king’s brother, Nikolas. The king remains at home, overseeing the kingdom and raising the infant as his own. He names him Draco, but the child displays worrying signs of evil from a young age and has an unearthly strength that is unnatural.

Thirty years later, Nikolas returns as a changed man. His skin is abnormally pallid, and he is in possession of the same supernatural strength as Draco. But he hasn’t come alone. With him comes an ancient, evil race, known as the Firelli, bent on the conquest of a land they once called home.

Now, as Nikolas destroys everything in his path in a bid to bring to an end an ancient spell, Draco discovers the truth of his intentions. And as the kingdom sits on the brink of total annihilation, he finds himself torn between joining with the Firelli or saving the people of Godrin.

What an incredible ride this story is.

Symphony of the Firelli may not be long on pages, but wow does the author pack a lot of action into those 100+ pages.

The kingdom of Godrin is brought to life magnificently. The characters are so well-developed you will love them, hate them, and sometimes both. Whether it’s a clenched jaw, a bit of sarcasm, or the portrayal of ultimate sacrifice and bravery, the author has a way of turning words to pull you deeper into the story.

Battles are not fought without violence and blood. That is the nature of war whether in a fantasy novel or real life. However, the violence fits well with the storyline and is not there for the sake of titillation.

The Captain Draco and Prince Charles relationship that builds throughout the story has set this book up well for a sequel. I certainly hope one is in the works.

Lovers of epic fantasy, science fiction, and adventure will find everything they need in Symphony of the Firelli. Don’t miss this book. It’s a winner!

How long have you been writing?

=> About five years.

What inspired you to write in this genre?

=> I have been a science fiction and fantasy enthusiast since I was really young and I’ve always enjoyed

associated books, movies, and TV shows. I also enjoy writing stories in this genre.

Do you have a set writing schedule?

=> Not really, I write when I have free time.

Were you an avid reader growing up?

=> Yes, I preferred fiction, and I really enjoyed reading science fiction and fantasy novels.

Who has influenced your writing the most?

=> Probably one of my favorite authors, Terry Goodkind.

Is there anything you would like my readers to know about you & your book?

=> I originally wrote the book as a screenplay for films, and later converted it to a novel. Screenplays tend to be very straightforward and without extraneous details. They also tend to focus on progressing the storyline as efficiently as possible. Therefore, these aspects will probably be noticeable in my book.
